Most of my aides have attempted this dreaded IELTS exam many times but this has seemed like a rat race. I am petrified, will I ace this test? – Message from a disturbed IELTS candidate.
Exam uncertainty and restlessness are infuriating. This could eventually translate into a lower band score in your final test.
Here is a quick fix;
a) Tune yourself to an exam condition.
Purpose to do this every day as you take your practice tests. This would mean no music, no distractions, no talking and strict observance of timelines for all four skills. This would go a long way toward stabilizing your mind as you await to take your test.
b) Build self-assuredness
It all begins in the mind. To crack this test, you need to employ a can-do attitude towards the test in its entirety. No section is a hard nut to crack. The best thing you can do is to get a coach to walk with you on the journey.
c) Practice, practice, practice.
IELTS is like Mathematics, the more you practice, the more trouble-free it gets. Do a lot of mock tests to gauge your performance before the real exam.
